The day before Christmas was a pretty epic. We were at Snowbird early and watched the control work produce these massive avalanches. These unsupported and wind loaded slopes ripped out huge! Such a force of nature to behold. Later we went Alta and I skied a line down Wolvy. At the bottom a voice came over the radio saying something about going huge like Jamie Pierre… of course it was Pierre himself. I was stoked to see him and glad get some vid of him ripping the pow!

The month is not even over and already its got the most December snowfall ever recorded in Little Cottonwood Canyon. The latest December gift package came in at roughly 70″ of the white stuff. It began on the 17th, and continued for 7 days of steady southern flow.
Everyone was stoked for the storm.
Afternoon hiking.
From the chair we watched people getting theirs:
We would get ours too:
By the Final day people were starting to dig out:
I wasn’t able to ski every day of the storm, but by moving my office closer to the slopes I managed to get my fill.
The morning of the 8th day was Christmas Eve, it ended up going blue!
It was a good day to go to Snowbird. Here’s Sage throwing a 3 just after sunrise. Nice looking snow eh?
I finished the day with a run down Wolvie. Jamie Pierre rolled up and took himself a nice run as well. It felt like old times being out at Wolverine, and it had been a great storm cycle!
