Salomon Lord Available Now at Backcountry.com

This is the Salomon Lord, and it is aserious mid fat, all mountain slayer. These days alot of ski companies are trying to cut cost by cutting corners. Not Salomon, they gaveall their freeride skis afull wood core. What that means to you and me, is that we get skis that are incredibly stable, durable, and have a great feel underfoot. The other things I like about this skis are: its turned up tail makes it super versatile. You can get in and out of places easily, and ski switch back to the lift. Lets see what else…can’t forget that the Lord has a slightly rockered tip. Its not enough to make the ski reverse cambered, but it gives it just enough for the tip to float in powder and crud, rounding out its all mountain performance. This is the new breed of all mountain skis.

Salomon Czar, available now at backcountry.com

So I’m just gonna do the quick review here. These are some of the most versatile skis ever made. Some of the things I love about them are:

  • Great for touring: at 182 cm they keep the weight down.
  • Rocker Tip: they ski so easy you’ll forget how you did it before (I did).
  • Flat Tail: when you need to haul ass, you can weight your heels w/out your skis squirting out.
  • Wood core: solid performance.
