My bro Seth Warner has recently kicked off an epic rocky mountain spring mission. The goal: 30 resorts in 30 days. Having myself done: a different resort every day for 7 days, I know that this a serious undertaking. In a nut shell, the routine will be something like this: get up, meet skiers, ski, eat, meet more skiers, ski, ski, drive, dinner, dry out, sleep… everyday for a month!! So yeah, I’d call that pretty burly. But if I know Colorado and Utah like I think I do, this month will be many times more epic and burly than we can imagine. Soooo, keep checking his progress, I think he should be finishing his day in Telluride right about now!
p.s. If you happen to see Seth, don’t be shy, show him your mountain!!
This is Hugo Harrison’s MSP re-edit. I’m really stoked they put this together. Hugo is one of my favorite skiers, and he has some of the sickest stomps of all time in this edit.
The other day I got a call from Adam Barker who had the grand idea of hiking out to Mt Raymond in the morning. Since I know a good idea when I hear one, I was in like flynn. Well the hike ended up being quite the slog, but the zone was thoroughly agreeable, coupled with the latest “dusting” it was pretty sweet skiing. A little patience and bang! One of the best photos of the year for me. Thanks Adam!!

When I’m faced with the question: which skis do I ride today? My most common answer is: the Rockers.
That’s because these boards are the best skis I’ve ever used. I’ve tested other big skis from most every other manufacturer, and I think this is the best shape. They have a huge amount of tip rocker and no tail rocker. This is good because when you want or need extra speed you can sit back and haul ass. That comes in handy when: the slope mellows out and you want to keep “long boarding” the pow, or when you ski a big line and your bombing the runout. Otherwise these puppies are super maneuverable, you just want to remember to stay forward on them. But with all that tip rocker these skis do 90% of the work for you. You can see the Rockers in action in my edit from the Levitation Project.

This photo was shot by Jay Beyer. I was out the other morning with Steve Lloyd doing a little dawn patrol action and thought I’d ski this mini golf line that I’ve been noticing for the last few years. Jay and the Powder Whores were shooting Toledo at the same time so he had a nice view of my line. I have hit the cliff with the tree on top before but skiers right is actually a much better line, you just need some speed to clear the rocks. When my ski cut produced the slide I decided to wait and see what the extra snow would do to the slope. It didn’t cause any additional slides, so I skied my double. It was REALLY fun, but also reminded me of why I have not been onto any bigger lines this year.

This is some slick shit people. When those boards start lagging, get a coat of this levitation wax melted deep into your bases. You’ll be hauling ass again in no time. I think you’ll be able to order it starting tomorrow – 2/18/10 here:
