A Little POV Vid from Last Year

The Salomon Ghost

ghost1.JPG

Over the last couple of years Salomon has beenbusy designing a complete line of freeride specific equipment. One of my favorites, and one of the most needed in our industry, is the Ghost freeride boot. Until now, there has been a void fora comfortable high performance boot that caters to the needs of those who ski resorts andbackcountry (touring, hiking, sledding, or heli). Forthose users, theGhost offers convenience, safety, comfort, & performance.

The Ride

The thing that surprises most people about the Ghost is the stiffness: 120! Yes this boot is pretty stiff. The plastic of the lower however, feels a little bit softer. You’ll notice that I have surefoot foam liners in my Ghosts (I’ve been using foam liners for the last 7 years). Long story short: the Ghost skis as good as a world cup boot, period. Here’s a quick list of things you’ll love about the Ghost:

  • Dryness - with the full overlap and external gasket, the Ghosts are dry as a bone, even after stomping around in the snow all day.
  • Anti Slip - the sole is outfitted with rubber tread under the arch. Slippery stairs & icy boot packs are nothing.
  • Performance - the Ghost rides a lot like the Falcon Race. It doeshave a slightly bigger toe box.
  • Convenience - With only 2 buckles things just got a lot easier.

As always, Feel free to leave comment and ask any questions you have.

Tramdock.com goes ODAT

I know you all know already but Tramdock.com is now One Deal At a Time. Just like Steep and Cheap but only for ski gear. Basically they sell one item at a time for ridiculously cheap. Take a look and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Why buy used when you can get new for the same price??
