What a day.7 hours and over 6000 vert of hikingtook its toll on Aaron Ward, Jason Prigge, me today. We got an early start, but it was after noon before we got to the top of coal pit gulch. Before gaining the ridge, we verted up a couple G’s, the last part of which was steeper then 52 degrees! Once on the ridge the going got easier, but we missed a traverse and ended having to ski down a bit and hike again…ouch. The views were spectacular, Lone Peak looks to be the gnarliest zone in the Wasatch. The ski down was epic: warm weather, nice creamy snow, and over 5000 vert to the road. A run like that, after a hike like that…I was ready for some Lone Starand a nap. Another sick day in the Wasatch!

It could have been the best day of the last three years on Superior today. We were off the back, leaving the parking lot at 5:30. many parties knew that it was going to be good up there, and that the window would be brief. As the temps spiked so did the wet slides, we saw the evidence as we drove past the take outat a little past 11 am. It was an epic day but, it got sketchy quick. Photos coming soon. That’s the beauty of the Wasatch.

Sorry for the long absence. Its been a busy couple of months here. Trips to Colorado and Vermont to help launch next years Salomon equipment to the dealers (its a sick line, especially the Ghost boot, and Lord and Czar skis. we’re poised for domination). I also went to Aspen to attend the Powder Video Awards party. It was a fun and comical night, although I didn’t win best line or worst slam, I was happy to be there catching up with friends. I also lost my camera during that trip, therefore no new photos here. then it was down to Vegas…Always entertaining. Recently, we’ve finally had some high pressure move into UT, but not for long, asstorms are approaching!!! Best Wishes to everyone, and remember: those mountains aren’t gonna ride themselves, so get out there and give’r!
